I really tried hard to minimize all the crap I have all over my desktop this time, and whittle it down to just the bare essentials. I'm actually pretty pleased that it has plenty of the information I want visible, but in ways that are much sleeker than in past desktop designs.
What I assume you are referring to as the trash and hard disk are actually just some folders I have in the lower left corner. I've turned off the option to show the hard disk on my desktop from the Finder Preferences menu. To change the size, all I did was change a slider in the View Options menu. You can get to it from the View drop-down menu, or Command+J. I hope that helps.
I am using Mirage 1.1 [link] to remove the background off of the dock. Tinkertool [link] to remove the 3D glass effect. CandyBar [link] to change the indicator images and remove the separator (and change all the icons of course which are part of the Token set [link]).
The calendar is from Dateline.
